heading toward a mirage called JAY BESEMER: COLLECTED PERFORMANCE TEXTS

or something.

on bluesky & twitter i made tentative inquiries about interest levels for a future volume of my performance scores/scripts, documentation, notes, various related materials, etc. i imagine it would take a while to track down, assemble, get reprint permission where applicable, & find ways to include digital recordings/elements, so this is a very early stage of the idea.

anyway, i figured that if i put it to whoever noticed it on those platforms, i ought to put it to this one too. i have enough reader/audience interest to move ahead, not to mention my own interest in having something i can refer to myself when i need a memory boost about my own body of work (dammit).

now i'm curating a small & focused list of potential presses to query eventually. i'm thinking to prioritize local presses, ones i know & have relations with already, that would also know me & my performance work: meekling & kenning editions are the first two. but i am curious if anyone else here either wants me to query their own press, or has suggestions of presses i may not know that might wish a query too.

  1. You probably already considered this, but I wonder if Plays Inverse might not be sort of appropriate? I know they publish fully formed plays, but perhaps this project would fit?

Also, sounds amazing! Can't wait to read!

    1. i wish! tyler had to close PI to focus on his game company--which i also support. the back catalog is handled through another press, which may be a possibility, but i forget which one & i don't think i know them. tyler's one of the few i'd trust with this project, because he knows what i'm about, so if PI was still going i'd definitely have it on the list!

  2. Oh Dude! I had no idea! I gotta keep up. I love that press. That stinks, but totally understandable! I gotta check out the game company.
