from Stanislaw Warda: Garden

It was not hard to pick this neighborhood before I considered to buy an apartment there. This area was close to the Belmont and Cumberland intersection across a complex of parks and forests. Near this area they have been building a few new apartments with front yards for small gardens with fancy fences.

In my imagination I saw the front of my apartment. There should be a few ash trees not too tall but tall enough to give me a shadow for my front windows.  There would be ash trees which are necessary to produce fresh air. Fresh air gives me the impression that I live in Colorado.

The joy for my eyes would give me a small garden. In the center of it would be a small bank of flowers with bushes among which would grow sparkly white roses and read tulips. I will not care if this place becomes a joyful playground for rabbits and a few squirrels.

The garden should be separated from the busy street by the short, evergreen conifer trees which would muffle street voice and protect this garden from the dust. I have not decided which ones yet. It is important because some of them have an intense scent which additionally would neutralize the smell of the street. I also consider those which would be useful during Christmas time.

In my imagination I also considered to build a small patio, but I am not sure if there is enough space. Some of my friends advise against this but it does not convince me. Perhaps, a fancy bench with a place for a barbecue will be enough, I will see.

I do not know if I will realize it in some time, but the dreaming, talking, and only writing about it gave me a lot of joy.
