hey--if you work in Higher Ed--

This is the first year of my first time serving as an officer for my union NEIUPI.  

I get a lot of emails with info to read and think about and comment on and vote on, and most of my favorite details are the skittery meta-information kind of things I glean from meetings (a way someone has of talking kindly and intelligently right off the cuff, how nearly everyone is in affordable gymshoes, the eccentrics that wind up in these spaces, the brilliant thinkers who believe for real in ethics who wind up in these spaces . . .). But anyway, my Local recently sent out a set of NYT editorials on Higher Ed at this moment:
