OUT NOW: MC HYLAND’s
The Dead and the Living and the Bridge

We’re utterly thrilled to share MC Hyland’s The Dead and the Living and The Bridge with you and the larger world today, its official pub day!

MC Hyland’s poem-essays weave together the conceptual and the material, leaving a trace of thought-in-flight. Originating from a moment (pre- and mid-pandemic) when Hyland taught canonical British literature as a contingent university worker, the essays in The Dead and the Living and the Bridge take up the topics of grief, gender, art materials, capitalism, and close reading.

UP NEXT: Mission Creek

See you next Saturday, Iowa City, at Mission Creek!

Find us at the Small Press & Literary Magazine Book Fair

from 12 to 4pm, at the Spare Me! Bowling Alley.

We’ll have plenty of copies of MC Hyland’s The Dead and the Living and the Bridge on hand in addition to our fall books, Olivia Cronk’s Gwenda, Rodney and Sylvia Jones’s Television Fathers, and more… +++ come too to check out MC’s fantastic DoubleCross Press, in addition to old friends and favorites tabling there.

// Upcoming Readings //

If we were anywhere near the BAY AREA, we’d head to SMALL PRESS TRAFFIC for WILLA SMART and NAT RAHA on Saturday, APRIL 5. Lucky for us, the event will also be live-streamed — REGISTER HERE!

We’re hyped that SYLVA JONES is coming through CHICAGO to read at the PO BOX POETRY SERIES on Thursday, April 17.

Find MC HYLAND at the NEW ORLEANS POETRY FESTIVAL April 10-12, and then at various locations in the midwest throughout April. (CHICAGO, not yet, but save the date for Friday July 18 because that’s when MC reads at POETRY and BISCUITS.)
