Canadian Poets Series #4 : Jake Byrne
Jake Byrne is the author of the chapbook The Tide. (Rahlia’s Ghost Press, 2017) and two full-length poetry collections: Celebrate Pride with Lockheed Martin (Wolsak & Wynn, 2023) [see my review of such here] and DADDY (Brick Books, 2024) [see my review of such here], a book recently shortlisted for the 2025 Trillium Book Award. Byrne lives in the Greater Toronto Area. They won CV2's Foster Prize for Poetry in 2019, with poems appearing online at Arc Poetry Magazine, the ex-puritan, Metatron Press and Metatron Press again, long con magazine, The Lambda Literary Review, The Blasted Tree and Open Book, among other places. Byrne was interviewed over at ottawa poetry newsletter, the 12 or 20 (second series) questions series and The Toronto Arts Report.
