2028 FENCE Ottoline Prize opens March 15

The 2028 Ottoline Prize will open for full-length poetry book submissions on March 15, 2026, via Submittable. The submission window will close on May 31, 2026.

As promised, all submitters shall receive a two-issue subscription to Fence–in their mailboxes–beginning with issue 43, forthcoming soon, this spring! If you submitted a manuscript to the 2027 Ottoline Prize, moved recently, and have a new address, please kindly let us know by replying to this email. (There is a pile of returned mail I am still working through when I have moment, thanks also to volunteer and intern efforts, here in Queens.)

International submitters shall receive a digital subscription to Fence.

We offer you the abundant imaginative freedom you desire to write the books you most deeply want to make, out of and from your full variousness, outside enforced constraints and prescribed conventions.

Yours truly,

Emily Wallis Hughes
