Canadian Poets Series #34 : Misha Solomon

Misha Solomon is a homosexual poet in and of Tiohtià:ke/Montréal. He is the author of My Great-Grandfather Danced Ballet (Brick Books, 2026)--see reviews by rob mclennan, at periodicities: a journal of poetry and poetics, Montreal Review of Books and Winnipeg Free Press--a 49^th Shelf, Quill & Quire, and autostraddle most anticipated release. He has also published three chapbooks: FLORALS (above/ground press, 2020), Full Sentences (Turret House Press, 2022), nominated for the Expozine Award for English Literary Publications, and Misha Solomon’s BIODÔME: A Bestiary after Stephanie Bolster (above ground/press, 2026). His work has appeared in journals across Canada and has been anthologized in Best Canadian Poetry 2024, 2026, and 2027 (Biblioasis) and in On Occasion: Poems for the People (Coach House), with further recent poems appearing via the Tuesday poem series, periodicities: a journal of poetry and poetics, Carte Blanche, long con magazine, the Augur Society, The Pi Review, Frozen Sea, Plenitude, headlight anthology, The Temz Review, Fruit Journal, Geist, Maisonneuve, the Chaudiere Books blog and Vallum magazine, and through The League of Canadian Poets. He has a BA from Columbia University and an MA from Concordia University, where selections from his thesis won the 2023 David McKeen Creative Writing Prize. He is a student in Concordia's Interdisciplinary Humanities PhD program, pursuing a SSHRC-funded rethinking of the non-reproductive homosexual through an animal studies lens. He also leads poetry workshops at Librairie Pulp Books & Café and consults for scripted television producers.
