NEW VIDEO for “Tactical Frog”

MK NEWS THE SHORT VERSION: The new video for “Tactical Frog” from our record Sunshine Committee is now online! It’s directed by friend of the pod, Buffalo filmmaker, Scott Puccio. Also, a few local dates to announce: 1) I’ll be playing solo on October 10th, 7pm, at Upstairs Arts Collective in Troy, with Julia Asarraf, Cut Chord, and Dylan Patrick Ward. And then 2) on November 14th, 7pm, at the Waiting Room, you can catch the full band with Jake McKelvie, Sabrina Trueheart, and Nate Goyette. The rest of my fall tour is listed below. Hope to catch you here or there! Heart of hearts, Mk NEW VIDEO My dudes, there’s a new MK w/ Mouth Trumpet video in the world! Here it is, “Tactical Frog,” made and directed by the great Scott Puccio, old friend and collaborator, and constant supporter of the MK creative universe. So grateful to have Scott contribute to Sunshine Committee! “Tactical Frog,” track #7 on Sunshine Committee, is a cute li’l banjo tune about an aging inflexible sad boi (me!) going to the gym, per doctor’s orders, in the era of the manosphere. Whoa! Nice! Cool! Features a classically confusing opening trumpet riff by Louis, frog sounds courtesy of Shawn McCann’s handy wooden frog, and pond vibes by the wizard Jimi W. Marked “explicit” for the most adorable swearing ever. Maybe today, my friends, I’ll head out into the fray. But maybe not! If you missed them the first time round, here are some links to Scott’s videos from the first Mouth Trumpet record: “Concrete” and “Signs of Life.” UPCOMING SHOWS Local focals, here’s two upcoming chances to catch some Sunshine Committee tunes live! On Saturday, October 10th, 7pm, at Upstairs Art Collective, I’ll be playing solo w/ Julia Alsarraf and visiting acts Cut Chord (Hudson Valley), and Dylan Patrick Ward (Vermont). And then, on Friday, November 14th, at 7pm, we’ll be back at The Waiting Room, with the full committee, for a show w/ Jacke McKelvie, Sabrina Trueheart, and Nate Goyette. The rest of my (as yet) 2026 dates are below. If you think I should come to your town to read poems or play music this year, please email matthewklane@gmail.com.
